K.P DENNIS is a Black (West-African, Afro-Caribbean) and Arawak, two-spirit multi-disciplinary artist, producer, director, and activist. Working in theatre, poetry, prose, movement, visual art, and film.
They were the 2016 Youth Poet Laureate of Victoria, were the recipient of the 2017 VACCS Community Recognition Award, and in 2020 they received the Witness Legacy Award for Social Purpose and Responsibility Through Art .
In February 2020 they released a chapbook entitled Growing Pains and are currently working on their new play, Call Me Liberation , with funding through Canada Council for the Arts. Their work focuses on black liberation, afro-surrealism, and freeing our collective imaginations to make a better future.

I offer 4 workshops for youth and adults. Three poetry workshops: Youth Poetry Workshops, the THCC Method – Workshops for Teens to Adults, and Poetry & Movement – Our Creation Stories. And Anti-Racism workshops, tailored to the specific needs of the attendees.
YOUTH POETRY WORKSHOPS
These workshops use interactive games and exercises to deepen our connection with sensory writing, explore creative metaphor creation, and foster experimentation in voice, syntax, and performance.

THE THCC METHOD
This method I have spent years crafting, uses the concepts of Truth, Honesty, Care, and Compassion, to deep dive into our innate truths to expand our understanding of ourselves, creating intimate, visceral work.

ANTI-RACISM
Curated to your specific needs, these workshop takes an introspective approach, looking inwards to explore the ways white supremacy and colonialism exist within ourselves, how that affects our values and beliefs, and the consequential actions these culminate into with our interactions with racialized people.
Includes terminology education, history, interactive exercises, and intimate self-reflection.
