It all started with my two sons, who I nicknamed shortly after they were born, my "Bug" and my "Bear."  My Bug and my Bear are just the snuggliest critters to be found this side of Bridgeport, Pennsylvania; so, naturally, they needed some soft things to snuggle up with.  Then Bugglebear Creations was born!  

My name is Victoria, and aside from my role as Mom, I am a professional actress, writer, and teaching artist.  After the birth of my first son, I put my theatrical work on hold to enjoy the precious moments of new motherhood, and suddenly I needed a new creative outlet.  With a background in theatrical costuming and a love for sewing and crafting, I found that I could merge my skills with my need to create adorable things for my adorable little guy.  So, I simply started sewing tag blankets as a fun way for my Bug to get some sensory stimulation.  I could choose the types of fabrics, make sure I could machine wash everything, and even make them match his other nursery décor!

When the Bug's little brother came along, he wouldn't fit in the normal receiving blankets to swaddle, so it was off to my sewing machine again to create oversized flannel swaddle blankets that would hold my BIG little Bear while he snoozed.  As the Bug and the Bear grew, they became more specific in their preferences, and a prompt for a "Wizard of Oz" ornament advent calendar had me hand stitching felt ornaments in the wee hours of the morning to make a pre-Christmas ritual magical.  We now have so many critters and characters that the boys have specifically requested on a little tree in their room--it has become so much fun to give them the joy of decorating with ornaments that they "know" (and for Mommy and Daddy to know they won't shatter if they drop them)!

When you order a BuggleBear Creation, know that you are ordering a completely handmade-to-order gift.  And since I am the designer and maker, everything is completely customizable!  You choose the fabrics, stitching patterns, and themes for your blankets--even the blanket sizes are flexible depending on your needs.  Coordinate based on nursery themes or your toddler's favorite cartoon character.  And give me those special requests!  I have made ornaments ranging from owls to orcas to Oz and love creating things that I have never done before.  In this booth you will see samples of past custom orders that I can recreate for you; you can also think of them as discussion starters.  Do you see a fabric you like on one blanket, but you prefer the stitch pattern of another?  Let's talk it through!  I so look forward to creating with you!

Felt Ornaments ($8-$10 each)

Need some fun, cute ornaments for your Christmas tree or holiday decorating? Look no further! Featured here in the "Forest Friends" collection, these felt ornaments will add charm and delight to any holiday décor or child's room. Available with and without stuffing (i.e. flat or puffy), these hand-cut and stitched critters are the perfect addition to a tree with little ones in the house; they cannot break and can also double as soft play friends! Ribbon is sewn in for easy hanging and designs are completely customizable. Special requests for your favorite creatures or characters are most welcome!

Pleated Masks ($8 youth size; $10 standard and large sizes)

With COVID-19 regulations and recommendations here to stay for a while, why not have your mask custom made? Crafted from 100% woven cotton, among the top recommended fabric choices for hand-made masks, these face coverings are breathable and comfortable. Elastic ear bands allow for ease of wearing and removing, and the pleated style of the traditional surgical mask helps fit the mask to the individual wearing it. You choose your pattern! Available in three sizes: youth, standard, and large (commonly a favorite among the gentlemen).
