Moksha Rao
Moksha Rao is a professional Bharatanatyam dancer based in Atlanta, Georgia. Fun fact: Bharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance form from South India. Born and raised in Mumbai city, Moksha grew up in an environment filled with dance and music, under the tutelage of Guru Rajee Narayan, founder of Nritya Geethanjali Dance Academy, Mumbai. Moksha began dancing at the age of 5 and performed her Arangetram (debut stage performance) in 2009. She went on to give performances all over India and participate in many dance ballets. After moving to the USA in 2016, Moksha continues to passionately pursue this dance form alongside her job as a UX Designer at The Weather Channel. She finds the marriage of her two worlds of design and dance a fascinating one, and believes that both help in truly showcasing her love for creative expression. She is a strong advocate for keeping this traditional dance form alive through each of her performances, and hopes to see you at her next recital! She is also open to performance bookings for any event.
